Our verdict
- This is a commitment to invest in initiatives that aim to prevent crime through a new Safer Streets Fund.
- On 26 January 2020 the Home Secretary launched a new £25 million Safer Streets Fund “designed for areas that need to tackle theft, robbery and burglary”.
- Following a bidding process, a total of £22.4 million in grants has been awarded to 35 Police and Crime Commissioners to fund preventative interventions and training initiatives. This policy is ‘done’.
