Pass the Domestic Abuse Bill
Last updated 4 years ago
Conservative Party Manifesto 2019, p.19We will [...] pass the Domestic Abuse Bill.
Our verdict
- This is a pledge to make the previous government’s Domestic Abuse Bill into law, after it fell due to the calling of the general election.
- The bill, which was reintroduced to Parliament on 3 March 2020, has been passed by the House of Commons and is currently proceeding through the House of Lords.
- This policy will be ‘done’ if the bill receives Royal Assent and becomes law, but for now it is ‘in progress’.
