Promote the uptake of vaccines via our national vaccination strategy

Last updated 3 years ago

We will continue to promote the uptake of vaccines via our national vaccination strategy.

Conservative Party Manifesto 2019, p.11

Our verdict

  • This is a promise to “continue” to use a national vaccination strategy to encourage the uptake of vaccines.
  • The NHS public health functions agreement, published shortly after the December 2019 election, sets out the government’s expectation that NHS England will implement its National Immunisation Programme.
  • The agreement is updated annually and no doubt COVID-19 will impact on the process, but the national strategy remains in place so this policy is ‘done’.
