Conservative Party Manifesto 2019, p.52...and we will introduce a Veterans’ Railcard.
Our verdict
- This is a promise to introduce a railcard offering discounted train travel for military veterans.
- In January 2020, the government announced that the scheme would be rolled out in November 2020. It is expected that 830,000 people will be eligible.
- With a timeline for implementation in place, this policy is ‘in progress’, and will move to ‘done’ following the planned rollout in November 2020.
